Is this Sitecom network kit shown at this website good enough to run games such as UT2003? http://80.247.198.48/products_info.php?product_id=72&grp_id=5 I also hope to use one of the network cards to access the student intranet/internet at my university accomodation (My room has an ethernet port). To summarise, I want a network kit that will provide fast access to the facilities that the university intranet provides including the internet as well as fast gaming (2 computers networked).
Also, will I be able to network the 2 PCs when one of them is running Win98 and the other WinXP?
That network kit will work fine for the PC to PC setup, but you'll have to have a second LAN PCI card to tap into your rooms ethernet port.
You'll be better off to get a hub or switch setup, then both computers can access the ethernet port through the hub or switch, and also give you the ability for PC to PC networking. Ryan

Hi Guys,
Along this thread can I make a direct connection from an XP comp to a Win98 Comp through my parallel port? I've tried it but can't seem to get it working. I get a message saying the remote comp (Win98) is not responding. Just wondered if you might have any thoughts.
Thanks!
Jack
Your parallel port is enabled in the Win98 BIOS Right, and is talking the same language as the WinXP computer?
What I mean is that whatever the settings for the parallel port output are on the WinXP computer, they have to be set the same on the Win98 or they can't communicate with each other.
