Depends on how long and how much damage is sustained, can try degause. If it doesnt work its a goner.Talk to a tv tech!

Did that years ago on my wide screen Tv, had big speakers parked right next to the screen. I should have knowen better. Now have purple green patch on one side....I was not impressed.Made a great garage tv anyway .After a while some of the damage went away but not completly.

Other thing, was these speakers part of the monitor or just seperate extra's?

Reason being monitors with speakers incorporated in them are sheilded within. Gotta love magnetism..
