Long timeout between POST and Loading System32 Drivers

When I turn my computer on, it posts fine, but then the screen remains black(not turned-off monitor black, nothing happening black) for upwards of 45 seconds to two minutes before the computer starts loading system32 drivers. I reset my bios to its default settings, and checked that my hdd is default booter. I don't have any idea why it's doing this.

Did you happen to clear CMOS before loading defaults?

Sounds like the motherboard is trying quite a few settings befiore it gets comfortable enough to boot up, but without your system specs, how long this has been happening, etc. I can't even make an educated guess.
