My sisters laptop's hard drive was full, so i used drive tree to see what was takin up all the room.
Amongst lots of other stuff i noticed an unusual subdirectory in the main windows directory
C:\windws\CSC
WTF is CSC, and why is it takin up close to 400mb?
On further inspection it looks more dubious, filled full of system files all with numbered filenames
e.g. 0000057, 0000058 etc spread over 8 subdirectories called d1 to d8.
and the CSC directory itself is hidden.
Me gettin highly suspicious, and ive run spybot search and destroy.
Got rid of a few bits of spyware, but not that.
anyone seen CSC before? what is it...

Might be how she logs onto the computer.
In Windows logon does she have fast user switching enabled?

What version of windows is she running?
Only directory I know of that is very big (but depends on your settings) is the temporary internet files, I'm not sure if that's it, espcially the file names is numbers. I'd go to tools>interenet options>delete files, see if it helps remove harddrive space. I have 605mb allocated for those kind a junk, but I have a relatively free harddrive.
