I got a WinMe initializing device CONFIGMG... Windows Protection Error;
and below you can see why. These are the last entries in my BOOTLOG.PRV
file, where the MS knowledge base says my problem would be listed.
[000B8C00] DEVICEINIT = CONFIGMG
[000B8C00] Starting Unknown (HTREE\RESERVED\0)
[000B8C00] Started Unknown (HTREE\RESERVED\0)
[000B8C00] Starting Unknown (HTREE\ROOT\0)
[000B8C00] Started Unknown (HTREE\ROOT\0)
[000B8C00] Enumerating Unknown (HTREE\ROOT\0)
[000B8C01] Enumerated Unknown (HTREE\ROOT\0)
[000B8C01] Loading PNP drivers of Plug and Play Software Device
Enumerator (ROOT\SWENUM\0000)
I had to remove Real Player 10, from my system to restore some
stability, and the ability to start up without a floppy boot disk.
Could this be a remainder from my system conflicts with that program?
Regardless... would it be safe to remove the entries identified as
UNKNOWN? What is CONFIGMG for ... the system, or one application?
I haven't had any success with previous inquiries in the WinMe software
groups, so I thought I would try my luck here. I know we have some
Gateway experts who may be able to educate me. Please...?
