Archived from groups: comp.security.firewalls (More info?)
Hi all,
I have just had some D-Link DFL700 firewalls fitted to my ADSL lines and
since then we have been unable to access the Windows Update site. The site
starts to load ok and then I eventually get the 'Action cancelled' message.
I have tried adding the Windows Update site to the whitelist but to no
avail..........can anyone help?

Is the D-Link set to block ActiveX controls? Windows Update uses
them.
If you're getting a specific error message, check Microsoft's support
page for Windows Update.
I'd like to know your opinion of the DFL-700 because I'm strongly
thinking of getting one. It seems to have a great feature set for the
price. I currently use a Linksys BEF-VP41, but it lacks some features
I need. Have you used any VPN tunnels on it yet?
