the background tasks. i'm so disappointed i could cry. i don't
suppose someone has a God-like qulaity and can tell me what's wrong?

What graphics card do you have? Try to install new drivers for it on the
manufacturer's website. Same thing for your motherboard.
If that doesn't work, perhaps Rockstar's helpdesk knows more.
Good luck,

Guess most people have tried.... Do you have on board sound? SPECIFICALLY
Realtek onboard sound? If so, get the latest drivers... hell it worked for
me (although i dumped realtek and let microsoft use its default ones)

LOL! I don't recall getting crashes and blue screens on my PS2 version
that I played and finished months ago!

it just fixes a data-saving anomaly from the game engine when you
are using an account in XP or 2K with strange characters in it's
name. for instance, if my login name was zutroi!! or similar, then
the game won't be able to save my data to my:
c:\Documents and Settings\zutroi!!\My Documents\GTA San Andreas User
Files\ directory. this patch fixes the path problem, i think. thanks
for the address anyway. maybe someone can use it.
