Hey all,

Does anyone know if there are any MPEG2 or even better MPEG4 hardware
encoding TV tuners that can also support non compressed capture ala TV
tuners like the ATI TV Wonder and others? Most TV tuners with MPEG2 or
MPEG4 seem to only support compressed output can can't output the
uncompressed source. I'm considering turning and old PC, Pentium-3
910mhz into a PVR. It already has a ATI Radeon 8500 so it has TV out
sussed but given it's specs, it's might not to even handle MPEG1 real
time capturing and playback (as required for TV shifting)... So a good
option would be a hardware encoding TV tuner. But for future use, and
in case I ever want to move it to my main comp for capture of
something, I would like to have the option of being able to capture
without hardware compression but can't seem to find any cards which
can do this. Am I missing some or aren't there any?
