lcd monitor repair?

question to all..

I was able to narrow down the cause for the streaks & ghosting on the
Viewsonic VG175 lcd monitor.

it was originally thought to be a driver problem and that turned out to
be negative.

that left the matrox g450 video card.

swapped the monitor that was streaking & ghosting via the KVM switch to
another computer. no streaks or ghosting on that one.

then I tried something else. left the monitor switched to that computer
and left it alone for awhile. came back, it had streaky lines....

that pretty much rules out the video card.

so it appears the lcd monitor is the culprit.


so, the question is, can an lcd monitor be repaired?

.. 24??? wow, that's half of its bank.

how much do those capacitors cost?
