I just upgraded my plan to family share, got my wife off Sprint and we
share the 500 minutes but was shocked to see that the foot note at the
bottom of the plan descrition after signing up is the "promotion" of
free nights and weekends and in calling only lasts as long as the
contract. My last contract expiered years ago and I still got the free
nights and week ends, heck they kicked me up from 4000 minutes to
unlimmited. And now they want to charge me $15 to do an ESN swap. What
a bunch of malarky.

I have a similiar "promotion" for Free Nights & Weekends. I called VZW CS
to find out about it. In my case they said I had to maintain my contract
for one year but the contract actually continued in force month to month
there after. Have not had a contract for well over a year and still have
the "promotion". You might call and check with CS.

That's been in their small print for years.

When the replies to this come out I think you'l find MANY of us have gone
"month-to-month" after contract expiration and the vast majority have lost
nothing.

I was "m-t-m" for two years while I refused to give up my Single Rate East
plan, but the unlimited IN-network plus boredom with my phone finally got
me. I'm not sorry I finally gave up and took AC I. By the way, I've been
averaging 400-500 IN-network minutes per month (plus weekends and peak
minutes) on a 450/peak plan, so apparently it's worked for me.

Same here. Dropped the NSR plan in January for AC I with IN calling, and
have lost no coverage in my business travel. Plus with the $5 unlimited
text/pics my wife and I are in touch a lot more.
