Folks,
I recently won a 21" IBM P260 Sony tubed perfectly flat screen monitor
on eBay Australia, approximately 3-4 years old.

I checked it out prior to purchase using the Nokia screen test
utility. Everything tested out pretty well, except the screen has
what appears to be a dark blue/black coloured dead spot about 10cm in
and 10 cm down from the top right hand corner of the screen. It is a
dead pixel about 1 mm in vertical height. If you adjust screen
position the pixel remains stationary.
I know that this tube technology uses vertical wires not a perforated
shadow mask in its construction. I think it may be 2 to 3 vertical
pixels in total that are dead.
It is slightly distracting on a light surface but my question
is....Can this problem get worse ?
I would hate to turn it on one day and find a whole row of dead
pixels.

I declined to purchase the monitor due to the dead pixel, but at the
right price I may just be able to live with it. Any suggestions would
be appreciated.
Thanks
Tony
