Hello,
I have a Thinkpad I 1300 Series (Model 1171-nmu), and I can't get it to come
out of 16 color mode. It's also stuck on 800x600. I tried typing in
1171-nmu in the thinkpad driver search and getting the drivers listed there,
but they will not take. The thinkpad claims the drivers are not suitable
for the hardware. It is running Windows 2000. In the device manager, it is
missing drivers for the Display Adaptor (which I also tried installing, but
it obviously didn't work) and the sound adaptor, which I haven't played with
yet. Can someone point me in the right direction to get this working?

Thanks!!

Did you look for the most recent BIOS for your model before trying to
update the drivers?

Thanks for the reply.
I went back to the IBM download site and entered in "1171-nmu" for my model
number, and then searched those results for bios. I then downloaded the
BIOS update and ran it like it said to, but I got an error. The bios update
claims it works for the 1171's, but when I run it, it says "Error PCI Device
not found" and it makes me restart into windows. I'm completely at a loss
on this computer.
