Just be aware that it may take several days for any "data" usage to appear
on you verizon account web page, or on #DATA. Also, per my conversations
with Verizon, data going through the cell sites is still data, doesn't
matter if you are using #777 or your own internet providers dialup it is
still considered data and still billed as such.

I got my Treo 650 at the end of May and set it up to
dial Earthlink's access number from the beginning but
still got billed $69.85 for 4657 KB of data. I was able
to get Verizon to remove this but the reps I talked to
refused to put me back on MOU like they've done for some
other people.

Then somebody posted to 1src.com about using a script
and not having to pay data charges for connecting to
a dial-up service. So I started using the script and
have never been charged for data for connecting to
Earthlink after that.

Other people seem to be able to avoid data charges
without using a script. This may be because they have
a later software version than my version 1.01 or it
may be because their phones are different.

Another possibility is that Verizon may have changed
the way they distinguish between voice and data calls
to try to save us some money :-)

As posted to another thread earlier, it has taken as
long as 10 days for my data usage to appear on #DATA
and Verizon's web site.
