A new PC turned up for me at work yesterday. I'm due a new machine and I was supposed to get a P4 on an Intel 865 board with the ram in dual channel, partly so we can evaluate and automate our standard build before we ship, but mainly 'cos I nagged my boss and I sacrificed an offer of a new machine last year as I said I didn't need it.

Anyway, it turned up yesterday afternoon. P4 3GHz, 80GB SATA hard drive, 1GB ram in dual channel, CDRW, DVD ROM, GF4 ti4200 128mb card, Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard. I was drooling. Couldn't believe my luck. I stared lovingly at it for the rest of the day, proud of my new acquisition.

And now, my bubble has burst. Just had a phone call. Our supplier sent the wrong machine. I received someone elses from around the country and they got mine. I've just had to box it up and I'll have to wait another week or so before my real machine turns up.

Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Our entry level P4. Beats the shite out of a 667MHz celeron that I've currently got.

Thats too bad dude, but at least you got a new one, had a guy I used to know, he had a mail run, and in his van he had a 318 hemi engine, anyway the engine was getting a little tired so he rang up a place in ChCh and ordered another, When it arrived he thought it looked a little different, anyway he fitted it and took it out for a spin, He piked out at 125mph and it was just warming up, 2 days later he got a call from the shop in ChCh, they had sent him a full house 440 out of a jet sprint boat and could they have it back please?

Yeah, it is a bit of a kick in the testicles. I was suspicious, but checked the shipping details and everything tallied. Oh well.
