GTA:SA - Toreno's Last Flight

Hi,

On the mission, mentioned in the header, I get to the helipad, kill
those guards, and see the damn chopper take off. This is a cut-scene, so
it was _supposed_ to happen.
After the cut-scene, I take out the two remaining guards, and picking up
the AK and rocket launcher.

The game tells me to go to the freeway, and follow the chopper. Very
well, but EVERY TIME I get off my bike/out of my car, the cowards take
off again, and I miss them with my rocket launcher
After 5 popped tires and car crashes, with the necessary angry drivers
who run me over or kill me with a shovel (which I wonder where a biker
keeps it??).

Anyhow, after an exciting chase through the country side, we arrive at a
farm, and I'm supposed to prevent the chopper from taking off. Again,
EVERY TIME I try to climb over the fence (in which I succeed), I failed
the mission, because Toreno tricked me, and I'm in trouble. Seeing the
poor FBI-like guys shooting and missing me with a pistol, and some with
an AK makes me think who's really in trouble, because I wipe them out in
a few seconds with my built up AK-47 ammo from redoing the mission over
and over again

So, what's the secret in taking out the chopper, because there's a
heli-health bar in the HUD. So I guess I'm supposed to take it down on
the trip to the farm (and then the mission's name would be explainable).

Any hints would be appreciated

There are those who say you can ignore the rockets and collect a few
heat seekers before the mission, which could be helpful. Some say you
can even hit the chopper before it really leaves the area, but I've
never managed that either. I think my success rate on this is 50/50
and there's no absolutely positive method, but you need to be quite
far ahead of the chopper as you reach the end of the freeway,
certainly enough to get a good bead on it. Depending on where you
stand if you hit the thing before it reaches the end of the freeway it
almost invariably tries to take you out with it, so if you see a hit
RUN!

Basically when you're about two thirds - three quarters of the way
along the freeway you can burn ahead. You may have to experiment but I
found different places offer different things. I think the time I
stood virtually under the place where the chopper hovers i couldn't
even target it, so you want somewhere where you can see it coming
along the road but also get at least a shot off at it as it hovers. IF
you miss it then I think I have only once given chase and managed to
hit the thing and bring it down, and I've done this job so many times
I've lost count. I doubt there's a perfect answer for everyone.

You use the rocket once on the men on the platform and then use the rest on
the chopper. I get the chopper down to near nothing before I leave the
platform. I then chased the chopper, it flew slow because it was nearly
destroyed and I caught it, fired and missed a bunch but I think the 4th
rocket got him. I got it in one try. I always enter battles with full armor
and health and don't mind getting shot while firing rockets at the chopper,
you can leave those guys alive if you want and chase the chopper without
wasting a rocket on them.

Thanks, I managed to take it down.
I also found out that you can't outrun it very far, because you lose its
tail then...

I once tried to really get ahead and it warned me I was losing it.

30 satchel charges.

As a very last resort if you don't mind cheating, use the "blow up all
vehicles" cheat.

I just used the heat seeker. Did even have to give chase on the bike
