I'm thinking of upgrading a 1.3GHz, Original Radeon All in Wonder entertainment system. I've not kept up on things so I could use some help/ideas if y'all can get your mind off dicks long enough to be helpful.
Requirements:
Minimum cost
Must be able to capture at full NTSC res. (current radeon can't)
Must not be a Dell
17" minimum screen. Must be wide viewing angle if LCD.
I'm thinking something like AIW 9000 / 2.6GHz w 800MHz FSB
lite on 16x dvd
lite on 48x rw
???MB
???case (Antec?)
???PS
???cooling
???monitor
???dvd burner (optional/in place of one/both liteons)
???floppy (obsolete?)
???OS
???Megs Memory
???sound card (does the 9000 do sound?)
price under $1200.00usd
Speed is not a big issue as I'm coming from a 1.3G
I already have a big ole hard drive btw

Well you need an AIW I see but don't go with the 9000 they are slow as hell besides you want something that can handle direct x 9 don't ya? Go with the AIW 9700 it's worth the extra cost! P4 2.6ghz 800mhz fsb should suit you fine and won't require you to sell a kidney, if you're gonna be doing a lot of video editing/capturing you'll want a gigabyte of pc 3200 in dual channel mode perferably, you can get a NICE lite on 52x for around 40 bucks on pricewatch, DVD burners are still slow and spendy unless you absolutely need one I'd skip it and wait a few months. You could go with onboard sound but I'd reccomend something like an audigy 2 or teretec if you need something good. floppies are obsolete, include it or exclude it depending on wether you think you'll use it. Unless your gonna do some overclocking intels stock cooler should be fine. Right now you can get a nice antec/chieftec type case for 40-60 dollars plus shipping. they are wonderful cases if you aren't planning on doing any lan parties if you are go with something aluminum like a lian li. Make sure you get a high quality name brand power supply like a 500 watt antec.
Just a few suggestions hope you have fun building your new rig!
Thank you for the warm welcome back and the sugestions. This post has been up a couple days and has only got one reply, while posts about men's members have been bumped several times. This goofeyness is the reason I don't come arount here no more. Back in the day a chance to help would have brought a flood of responses, mostly from folks who didn't read a lick of what you wanted the system for and suggesting the fastest most expensive crap you can buy, but some that would actually have been helpful. Does anybody keep up with technology around here or should I just post the size of my cock and forget about getting any help?

To be honest, this probably wasn't the best place to post the question. You'd have been better off in the Motherboards or Other Components section, where you'd get a whole raft of replies giving their opinions.
