From xp to windows 7

Absolutely worth it. Windows 7 is better in every way as long as you have newer hardware. I would not try to put it on a Pentium 4 machine or anything older than about 3 or 4 years.

One more vote, for what it's worth. I don't miss XP at all after switching to 7.

has to be a clean install, there is not an upgrade path from xp to win7..

I installed Windows 7 32 bit on a 2003 m380n Media Center with XP(sp3) Pentium 4, yes! The old GeForce 5200 Graphics card and the Happauge TV tuner didn't like it too much, so I ditched them. Many PCI cards are available for this old rig. I chose the sparkle GeForce 8400 GS 256MB 64 bit GDDR2 card and hooked up a second 19" monitor. I also installed the WinTV-HVR-1600 PCI Tuner. I thought I got the one with the FM Tuner, but It doesn't have it. That's ok though. Everything is Smooove!
