lcd monitor question

i just bought a new lcd monitor. only had it for a week.

i am noticing that i have a ghost image of the desktop icons and text.

is this normal?

No. I'm assuming you have an ample video card.

i have tried three different video cards. all do the same thing.
there is a line that goes down the left side of the screen as well. (white
line that is.)

Looks like another bad cable or poor termination problem. See the
earlier thread - what you have sounds like classic "ghosting."
