Should I worry?

I recently discovered a network printer in my printer folder (that I did not install). I am on Cable modem, firewall (Sygate), file sharing off, Windows XP Home with all the updates. Should I worry about security for my personal files on my PC? Any replied welcome.

You said cable modem. hmmm... I think everybody connected on cable modem is on one big lan. You might consider buying a firewall device, or something.

with the sygate and sharing turned off I would say you needn't worry too much

if you ever put another computer on your lan that was sharing a printer, xp picks it up automaticaly, pain in the @$$ if you ask me.
