Home to Professional?

Ok this might be a silly question, but I just want to be 100% with this.

My friend gave me a copy of Windows 7 Home to use just to get an OS on my new computer I'm building this weekend. Since I dont have an activation code for Home, Im going to then download Windows 7 Professional from the student deal they have going on Microsoft's website.

here's the link if you didnt know about it- http://www.microsoft.com/student/en/us/software/windows/default.aspx

My question is, installing Professional onto Home wont cause any problems will it?

So long as they both are 32 bit or 64 bit, it shouldn't be a problem to do the upgrade.
  2. Cool, actually I am glad you brought that up because I just realized this CD that my friend gave me of Windows 7 is the 32 bit version. You really saved my ass just now hah.
