Depends where you're going! The major town arund Moosehead Lake is
Greenville. Greenville has all the major wireless services Verizon,
T-Mobile, cingular and Nextel. Just FYI "Moosehead Lake" is an area.
It's not a town.

Call and ask the visitor center. Tell them you plan on visiting and you are
wondering if there is mobile telephone service up there. Asking for such
things in today's day and age is not uncommon and I think such information
should be published more often in visitors guides and information packets.
Though most people go to these types of places to "get away from it all" and
have relaxation away from a ringing phone, sometimes it is nice to call back
to work and call friends and brag about how great of a time you're having
while rafting down a river out in the middle of nowhere.

Even better, I recently visited Brian Head, UT (for snowboarding this
winter) and in the past it was analog or digital roaming service only and,
much to my surprise, this last year I went up; I had full Verizon service
and not even extended network. I really enjoyed being able to take a
picture of the entire family in front of the fire and instantly email it off
to friends and call family to check their email. They were surprised to
learn that I had just taken the picture ten minutes prior to me calling so
it was almost like they were there enjoying the fun with us. Really kind of
cool for the geek in all of us.

Depends on if you're from the South or not on weather (HAHA I used the wrong
word for weather when it should have been whether) it is deer or dear. LOL

If the genie could turn the lake into Moosehead Beer, he certainly
could have made it cold. Probably 42 degrees, as it should be.

The primary carriers in Maine are Unicel (RCC) and US Cellular. Unicel
uses GSM and USC - CDMA. Assuming you are a VZW customer with AC, you
should be able to get extended plan coverage in the Greenville area. I
guessing that there will be pretty limited service north of that point
