Ah, what a relief.
After hearing all the negative comments in the group I actually expected
this to be harder than it was. It still took me an hour or so to get through
but it wasn't as awful I it could have been.
I was actually quite surprised at how my flying improved as I tried the
tests over and over again. When I first tried the "Circle the airfield" test
my plane was all over the place. I couldn't fly in a straight line and kept
losing control of it completely. 20 minutes later and I had good control and
could complete the test every time without any problems. It's interesting to
see how the brain picks up things like that, they look extremely difficult
at first but just get easier and easier with practise.
The one I found most difficult was "Circle the airfield and land." I blew my
plane up time and time again when I tried to land. After about 20 attempts I
realised why: I was forgetting to put the darned wheels down! It would have
been nice for the helpful tips that appear to have reminded me of that, but
at least won't forget in future...
The one where you have to blow up the lorries and moving cars from the
helicopter was quite tricky too, mostly because it's impossible to see where
you're aiming. Sometimes the camera just insisted in sitting to the side of
the helicopter instead of behind it so that I had to just guess which way I
was heading...

Exactly! When I played the game for the first time, I kept on forgetting
this as well. Now, during my second play, I immediately remembered to
put the wheels down

I had the opposite problem to that when I was practising. I kept forgetting
to bring the undercarriage up and could not work out why I kept falling out
of the sky

If you change the camera of the Hunter to 1st person, it will give you a
reticle to help aim the missiles.
