I'm trying to restore my old HP Jornada backup files onto my new iPAQ 2210.
The files are on a compact flash card. The iPAQ knows they are there as it
shows them on the file directory, but it seems the file type is different.
Does anyone know a way around this. I'm not able to sync it to a PC 'cus I
dont have one, though I could use a freinds as a last resort if this is the
only way around it

Probably you won't succeed ...
I've never done that... but even if you will be able to restore your backup
PDA will probably behave unstable. Tell me what do you what to be restored
form your backup? Some documents? Or contacts?

I haven't been able to get backups from one PPC/CE device even from the same
vendor to work it appears each PPC has a unique format. Well at least on
the ones I have tried.

I didn't realize that you made backup with Jornada's software... You will
not be able to restore it on iPAQ without the same software installed...
though it might not work even if you manage to get this backup app running
on iPAQ.

Can't you do file copies of the data you want? Copy to the PC, then copy to
the new PPC.

I think that he can not do that because he doesn't have the old PDA anymore
:D
If he has... than what are we talking about?
