Had a geforce2 mx400 32meg card about 3 years old. Just purchased a geforce4
4000mx card 128meg. Both from evga. Running on a P4 1.7gig with 512 ram. The
new card runs way slower than the old card. Playing need for speed
underground and medal of honor. Is the new card worse than the old one? What
are the best drivers for the new card? Had the 56 drivers and it ran slow.
Installed the ones one cd which are the 52 and it runs so so. I know I'm
being a cheap bastard, should I just get an FX card?

Thanks

Oh trust me... the card is not slow, you just haven't yet hung it on
the back of your car and rode on a racetrack. I ensure then the card
goes FAAAAST!

Screaming performance...yes...

But the GF4 MX4000 is a joke, a 32bits videocard...yes you hear it
good 32-bits.... shall I repeat it? 32-bits... so yes it's slow...very
very very slow... very very very slow..

You bought yourself a joke of a card.....

I hope you didn't pay to much for it.....then again more then 10bucks
is already tomuch for the card....

I suggest you sell it to Skybuck Flying and he can run it in SLI mode with
his 64bit FX5200. Then we'll get to hear even more meaningless rambles about
the color of his carpets and how Halo and RTCW runs much faster at higher
resolutions on the 32bit 400MX.
Ditch the card. If cost is an issue. Pick up a used GeForce4 Ti42000, 4400
or 4600 off EBay for 100to 120 bucks. These cards will outperform any FX5200
or 5600. Personally, I use a 128Mb Radeon 8500 which is equivalent to a
Ti4400 or 4600. But, hey, it's an Nvidia n/g.
