MOHAA Crash...Heeeeeeelp !

Last response: in Video Games

I'm getting desperate. I just bought a Pack MOHAA/Spearhead and decided to try MOHAA on my newly built PC (other games run fine: Splinter Cell, Madden 2003 etc...).
Anyway, each time I start the game it crashes after the MOHAA console (i.e. I can't even get to the first screen game) with a Send/Don't send report type of error.
I tried the following:
1) Kill all programs (beside taskmngr & explorer) using the taskmngr
2) disable VPU recovery (EA Games support told me to try that)
and can't get it to work.

Does anybody ever had the same issue ? I believe it to be ATI related (using catalyst 3.9 by the way) but it's just a guess.

Anyway, if someone can help, this would be greatly appreciated.

I just found this thread over at Rage3D.com. If you are having trouble with all OpenGL games, including MOHAA, then give the ATI AIW hotfix a try.

You can also try Omega's Drivers which apparently have the fix built-in. Get them at www.omegacorner.com</A>

Thanks I'll try that as soon as I get my DDR back (RMA).
Also, that might explain why another of my games (Jedi Knight II) is not working as well (it's using OpenGL as well isn't it?)
Anyway, I'll let you know if this helps. Thanks

I thought JKII is a D3D game but I don't really know.

Anyway, neither of my suggestions can hurt so you might as well try them both.

By the way, nice rig!

Don't worry. You'll get this problem straightened out.

Glad it fixed up some of your games.

As for NFS:U I can't help you. I do seem to recall other people mentioning problems regarding this game but I don't remember the details.

Went back to Catalyst 3.8 and everything worked perfectly fine (NFSU & MOHAA & JDKII etc..)
Silly me, I thought ATI was finally able to write good drivers...
