How do you change from SATA to AHCI on HDD settings

Trying to install W7 and get message stating that a CD/DVD drive is missing. found a recomend that chaging HDD setting to AHCI fromSATA would fix problem. How do I go about changing the settings

That setting change is made in your BIOS. Depending on your motherboard, you generally press DEL or F2 (for example) to enter the BIOS right after powering on the system. Once in the BIOS you will have to find where your SATA settings are. You will be looking for something like "SATA mode". Your options will likely be IDE, AHCI, and RAID. Simply select IDE mode. Save (often just F10). Exit and restart. Thats it. Good luck!
