TI 4200 Crashes on Far Cry Demo

Archived from groups: alt.comp.periphs.videocards.nvidia (More info?)

Hi folks here is the story and from reading this forum its quite a
common one.

I have a 2.4GH Intel P4 on an ASUS P4S8X motherboard.

512MB DRAM.

I originaly had a 350W power supply.

I was lead to belive that the reason my system was crashing was due to
a underpowered poower supply. I'm currently runninga 420W power
supply.

I have GF4 TI4200 128MB card.

When I run into the Caverns in the Far Cry Demo or run the 3DMARK03
DEMO.
During the WWII Irplane dog fights the machine hangs.
Here is a qute from another user that was having similar issues:

"I'm having crashing problems in games when the video card heats up,
or at
least that's what I think is happening!!
When it heats up too much, it crashes, and then loses the signal to
the
monitor, making the monitor go into a power saving mode."

This is also my symptoms.
The system is very stable unless the graphics cards is pushed and then
the monitor goes POP like it lost sync, the screen goes blank.

Any trouble shooting advice would be helpfull.

the card is now over a year old and i really don't have the funds to
spend $200 on a new graphic card.

Any thing I can do to up the AGP voltage in the motherboard or
something like that to make the card more stable?
