When I connect the video card (XFX GEFORCE4 MX 440 8X AGP 128MB) to the TV
via the S-Video connector, the vertical sync on the TV is not stable during
the time that the computer is starting up (bios boot process). The picture
frame continuously moves from bottom to the top -- and the Bios setup screen
(for example) is not useable.
When Windows XP completes its startup, the vertical sync becomes stable and
the picture is normal. I suspect the video driver on XP corrects the
problem with the vertical sync.
However, if I boot up the same machine in Windows 98SE, the vertical sync
problem never goes away -- making Win98SE useless.
Does anyone have an idea of what is going on?
Thanks,
- Ivan
