Activesync / Avantgo / Bluetooth

Is there a way to stop it searching for updated web pages etc when
connecting as I only want a net connection

Is there any other way to <easily> connect via my USB dongle other than
activesync ?

Thanks I thought I needed Avantgo to use the net with it off I can still
connect I notice did'nt realize this

if i'm not mistaken (and I usually am ) I believe there are some setting in
the activesync options for avantgo to allow it to sync only once a day.
this enables you to use the service without having to wait for the long
update everytime you sync.

AvantGo is just a service for syncing web content for offline browsing.
