Rodeo...a lot to be desired?

Hi Guys.

I've only had the game for 2 weeks (PS2), and having been to L.A. about
3 times it was neat to see all the familiar sites in Los Santos.
Rockstar knows their L.A. All expect for Rodeo. Pretty weak Beverley
Hills equivalant if you ask me. I was expecting posh and extravagant
shops and streets with snobby pedestrians and Rolls Royces...and the
mansions, and for god sakes, where is the famous B.H. Hotel equivalant.
Is it there or am I missing it? I also went to the clothes store
there expecting to buy a tux...but no. Oh well.

Also a bit of a lost opportunity when I drove to pick up Denise while I
had another girl in the car. The other just got out. I was expecting
Denise to terminate the relationship right there.

Best game ever still. I'm doing it all with no cheats and no
documented walk-throughs. At the moment I'm doing the territories in
Los Santos, which is going to take a while.

I have heard that sometimes a GF finds out about the other GFs you are
seeing and can come after you with a gun!

I picked her up in a helicopter once. She didn't seem remotely impressed.

I picked her up in a luggage trolley that I nicked from the airport - she didn't blink and eyelid.
She wasn't impressed by the Red County Tractor either!

still, both make for unusual drive-bys

Never seen that, and I'm on my 14 100% run through.....

Funny story: For some reason Michelle and Helena's heart icon wasn't on
the map, although my stats said I had 10% progress.

After trying everything I could think of, I went back to the driving
school, and Michelle was there waiting to be chatted up. Went to the
Ammu-Nation roof in Blueberry, and boom, there's Helena.

That was driving me nuts, I can't believe I didn't recruit them as CJ's
birds as I did Badlands/San Fierro, but it was puzzling that the game
was still counting progress despite CJ never meeting them!

I was back in LS by the way.

Bet you dont regret a minute of it!

I have only heard about this effect........never seen it myself.........IIRC
a poster said that Denise rang him up whilst he was dating another bitch and
then the next time she did a drive by shooting!

You won't be able to access that for awhile.
I lived in LA, Rockstar did a good enough job.
Their San Fierro is as close to the real SF, as is the LS/LA.
If not closer.
I just took someone from 'out-of-state' through San Francisco.
They couldn't believe how well R* did...maybe better than LA.

You can frequently find the snooty bitches and fast/fancy cars
in Rodeo. You need to know how to spawn the cars.
They did a better job on Compton, Idlewood, the hoods in general.
All 3 likenesses are as good as any game has been.
SF, LS, and LV, great job.
True Crime: Streets of LA didn't even compare.

Ah, that explains it.

Before you ask Helena out, stand in her way when she's firing. The
progress bar slowly creeps up and you start off on 15% instead of 10%
when you pull her.

I've had Catalina phone me up when I was on a date with Katie, that was
kind of strange. I think she got off on hearing Catalina and Claude
shag.
