Money 2003/2004 Sync

Hi,

I have Microsoft Money 2003 on my desktop machine.

I've just bought an IPAQ 2210 which is running PPC Windows 2003. I note
that the Microsoft website states that PocketPC Money 2003 is not compatible
with PPC Windows 2003 - so you have to download PocketPC Money 2004 instead.

Will PocketPC Money 2004 sync OK with my desktop Money 2003 or do I now have
to go out and buy Money 2004? (

actually....
YES pocket money 2004 will sync with desktop money 2003, BUT you have to
fool activesync into thinking pocket money 2003 is installed on your PPC.
Install pocket money 2004 on your pocketPC, then begin to install pocket
money 2003 over the top of it. go all the way until you get a message ON
THE POCKETPC telling you that money is already installed, do you want to
re-install? at this point hit cancel. This leaves you with money 2004 on
the pocketpc and your desktop thinking you have 2003 on the PPC.
your good to go !!

desktop Money 2003 but Pocket Money 2003 WILL work on PPC
Windows 2003 - MS just want you to buy yet another
product!

All you need to do is install Pocket Money 2003 to PPC as
normal. When you get the error message on the PPC;
ignore it and use file explorer to browse to "my
device\windows\appmgr\install" and copy the .cab file in
there to "my device\temp". Then tap on the cab file in
the temp folder. Pocket Money 2003 will then install
fine and it will work perfectly!
