I have just changed from playing San Andreas on the PS2 to the Xbox.

Remembering this mission from my PS2 days I started off with an MP5 which is
now at hitman level.

However when I start this mission my MP5 changes to a Tec-9. Not a problem
because the Russians drop loads of MP5s so I grab them and carry on with the
MP5. I get outside still with an MP5 but when I've got onto the bike I've
got a Tec-9 again.

Is there anyway that I can complete the final stage of the mission with an
MP5 or do I need to work on my Tec-9 skill?

More about : business mp5

I'm sure this happens in this mission anyway. i spent ages building up
a stock of MP5s only for it to steal them off me in the mission. There
are other worse things like this at other points but I won't give them
away :o )

Work on the Tec-9 skill.

certain missions replace your current weapon... i managed to get hitman on
all weapons before starting one mission and had a shed load of ammo for
each.

then you do "nines and aks" and your desert eagle with hundreds of rounds
of ammo gets swapped out for a 9mm with one clip. <sigh>

playing pool swaps out your melee weapon with, you've guessed it, a pool
cue.

Right.

The lesson is, don't become a serious arms collector until you're done with
all the missions.

In VC (my first GTA experience), I spent hours doing a weapons collection
circuit -- only to have the stockpiles destroyed by missions. (I later
learned about the airport/golf "stow yer weapons" trick, but, as I recall,
even that was no good if you wanted to keep the detonator grenades.)

And, hey. SA doesn't HAVE any place to stow your weapons. Bummer.

nope, and yep, that airport trick worked some of the time but
sometimes you just didn't get to keep whatever it was you really
wanted.

IIRC, the Tec8 doesn't have a weapon skill rating does it? Or am I just
thinking of the other little SMG?

Cheers,

Tec9 and Micro SMG both use the same skill (Micro SMG)........SMG skill is
for MP5 only.....
At Hitman you wield 2 Tec9s/Micro SMG (ingram Mac10 lookalikes)........and
can use them whilst on jetpack (cant do that with MP5 IIRC)
