Hi group, I am going to upgrade my fx5200 to a XFX 5900xt and I was
wondering if I should uninstall the current drivers I got on my system,
remove the card from device manager and power down, swap cards and power
back up. XP is my operating system by the way.

I am not a newbie at building Pc and stuff, but have never upgrade one card
to another before and was wondering what is the best way to do it. I think
to uninstall the drivers is the best way as it make sures the card sets up
properly but might be wrong.

Thanks in advance.
Anthony

hmm, im EXACTLY doing the same thing with the same f00kin card dude!
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-150-051&depa=0
theres a link.. buying it in a few days lol! but i wont use it on my
system yet cause i need a new PSU.. anyways, i got a guy who told me
he's gonna help me OC it to a 5950 ultra! yep yep u read it correctly!
hot huh ?
and from all i know i dont think u need to do anything, just download
the latest nvidia drivers.. install em for the 5200, close comp, put
5900... and ure set, u can actually install the CD that comes with it
and itll overwrite the stuff, or maybe the latest nvidia drivers are
good enuff..
