i seen a live band on friday night.. damn it was so good

the beating of the drums, intense drummer, the bassist going nuts trying to keep up (girl bassist, damn sexy) everyone crowded standing room only after a little bit after we arrived.. thank god we god in front quick . was only a small pub, say 50 feet by 100 feet in size but 600 people squeezed in..
was kinda of a well known band for these parts.. very influential. if youve heard of Sonic Youth or Weezer or Sloan, these guys listened to this band before the grunge scene really took off.. and theyre still kickin aorund suprisingly. i went to the back after a while and found a chair close to the mixing board dude where i could hear better (it was fvcking LOUD but i couldnt concentrate in all those people) ... wow it was good. the singer/guitarist wrote alot of new songs that sounded pink floydish amost, but alot heavier.. really trippy trippy shi!t.. i was losing myself quite a bit and probably looked like a retard there bymyself but i was kinda drunk hahaa.. had 7 beer before i went and a few after i got there and it was a great time

that was my weekend.. oh and afterwards i went to a friends house, but that sucked becuse i had been up for 35 hours by the end of it.. i work nites and didnt get any sleep the afternoon before teh show... so i was wiped. the combiniation of alcohol and others made me really really tired so i had to catch a cab... shame tho because they are great people , great people aorund here

anyway yeah.. how was your weekend?

Phial, good to know you enjoyed this.

Have you ever gone to a concert before?
The experience is indeed awesome when it is someone we desire seeing.

Only thing I didn't like about telling it here, well, was cuz practically no one related at first, all I got was comments like: "Ah she won't last", barely any words of "Oh I remember my concert experience"... was a bit of a downer coming here posting with so much enthusiasm after the show.

BTW my first and only concert was Avril Lavigne's.

Damn straight it is. It was such an experience. I tend to feel a strong aura coming from celebs, and when she appeared, I couldn't believe it. I'd turn up looking at the huge projected images of the show, then look at her, and I'd just not believe my eyes. I still don't today man, it's priceless!
"sigh", too bad the pics were so dark it was simply not fun looking at them... :frown:

My ears remained stuck ringing for 3-4 days. Let's race! :smile:

I love live music, heard Slash slowing down at the start of "sweet child" on the live album, and the changeup in the Guitar solo in November rain.
Probably the best live album I heard was the Kinks, "one for the road", Heard it years ago at a mates place.
David Bowie live at the Tower Philadelphia was pretty good too.
Best concert Ive been to was Pink Floyd, just amazing

The next time Tool tours you must absolutely, positively go see them. I saw them last fall and it was cool beyond description.

There was a full length movie running through the whole show with all kinds of disturbing computer animations, very well done. I was blown away.

I thought it was great that they added new material to some of their songs, opened them up some. They remind me of Pink Floyd live, with all of the atmospheric interludes and crazy imagery and stuff.
