Gateway 200 ARC Freezes - SOLUTION

I don't know if this has been documented anywhere, but I had mine sent
in for this problem. In my own experimentation, I found that using the
function arrow keys to decrease sound caused a WinXP SP2 machine to
freeze. I rebooted and turned the volume up. LEAVE IT UP, adjust volume
in windows and you may be a bit happier with the performance.
