Looking at 6800 card but what is a "hard disk drive power ..

It's a 4-prong power supply plug. The 6800 cards require two power supply
connections, but Nvidia usually sends a splitter with these cards in order
to only require one connection from the power supply.

So it's the normal plug? Why don't they say that ? I don't know anyone
that calls it a dongle.

The 6800 OC only needs one. I bought it today .
For anyone with a older CPU (not the latest and greatest) and as been
told that you won't see any benefit unless you upgrade your CPU I can
tell you they are wrong.

I had a asus A8N-e deluxe amd64 3000+ and a 9800pro
3dmarks gave that setup a 5882

Well that board blew up (long story) so I threw together a new PC with
an old asus a7s333 amd 2100+ xp and the 9800pro
3dmarks was 5280 I was surprised by the small difference

But I then put the 6800 oc in the 2100+ PC and 3dmarks score is 7892
So there is definitely a benefit.

I'll have to see how it runs when I get the 64bit system put back
together.

I guess that depends on what your talking about when you say "little
variance." I've seen people get about 1000-1500 points higher than me
with a much faster CPU. Although I'm already at 11538. That is
pretty close to 10-15%. Although a lot of it is in the first test

Here are the results with my 6800GT @ 400/1.1
P4 2.6C stock - 11512
AMD A64 3200+ Clawhammer overclocked 200Mhz - 12266
