Just bought an iPaq5555 at a steal! The features are great, and I have
had so much good use out of it so far...

Anyone else tried to utilize this GSM card slot (like what you find
in cell phones) by putting their card in from their cell phone? If so
I have this slot to put one in mine, but there is a sticker that says
"Warranty Void if Broken".

Now this iPaq's speaker & mic looks like it was possibly setup to use
like a phone also. It has Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, does anyone use theirs as
a phone?

Please let me know, I'd appreciate it GREATLY!!!

Respectfully,

KcMc

From the info I gathered it's strictly a form factor thing and it's not
wired.

The GSM slot was added to the 55XX series as there were plans to come out
with a GSM version of the phone. Only a few were made that have the slot
wired to anything and are clearly marked as prototypes. HP never changed the
mold for that model, so the slot is not wired to anything, most do not even
have the brass contacts in them.
Have to wait until the Ipaq 6000 gets to the mass market.
