Boot & Boot (or reboot & reboot)

I need help badly. Using Win XP Pro-SP2. Nothing special or "abnormal" about
my configuration. Just recently after I install a new program or hardware
device and when I turn my computer on in the morning I get the to the
Windows XP Pro screen and instead of going to my desktop my computer reboots
and I get the screen listing all the ways to boot up now such as Normal,
Safe Mode... I usually end up choosing Last known good config... and XP Pro
starts. This problem keeps getting worse and worse.

Anyone have any idea what's going on? When I run chkdsk it says there
something wrong with some file structures and states that I should run
chkdsk with the "F" parameter. When I do that and carefully monitor the
screen no error show up at all.

Please anyone have any input?
