Do you know of any online dealer who is selling Geforce 6800 (non-LE) cards
at sub $300 prices?.
I need the name of a dealer from whom you or your acquaintences have already
bought a card (any card).

Look for ASUS V9999GT card, it is better tahn standard 6800 and a bit worse
than full GT card and costs about 300 afaik.

You could look through Pricewatch. The prices are often misleading, as they
tend to dump the 'LE' cards in the standard section. If you look through
all of them carefully, you should find a cheap 6800 from a seller with a
good rating.

Are there any games you have now that don't perform satisfactorily?

I would just like to be able to play at a higher resolution and keep the
good framerates. Id like to play using 1028X768 or a little higher. Im
playing games like battlefield 1942 and ut2k4, but i want to get doom 3 and
halflife 2. Also far cry.

Playing Doom3 the 6800 Vanilla outperforms the fx5900 drastically,
ut2k4 is CPU bound, so you will see almost no speed improvement there.
I'm using Gentoo here, but I bet the same goes for WinXP.
