I have a Gateway GP7-600 computer with a EV 700 monitor. When I turn the
computer on it runs through its normal set up........booting, then the
Windows98 screen and then it gets to the desktop. Once there it blacks
out but there is a green horizontal line at the top of the screen. When
I first noticed this prob I saw the little door on the monitor was
open....neither my 9 yr old or 6 year old will fess up to playing with
the mebu button but I'm suspect. Has anyone experinced this problem..any
ideas or solutions? Thanks!

The monitor is either out of adjustment or failed. It is old enough that it may
have failed... Ben Myers

If someone messes with the adjustments on the EV700, you can reset
them all back to factory defaults by choosing the "R" option when
accessing the monitors menu from that front panel rotary selector.
