Any opinions on the new PCIe video cards. Has anyone compared the 2?

currently there really isn't a performance difference... perhaps in the
future, however they're already talking AGP express.

Doesn't matter, AGP will die and die quickly, PCI-E is the way to go.

They're already saying PCI-E is dead and AGP-E will be the way to go... Who
knows what
will happen.

Who's backing "AGP-E"? Not Intel. Does anybody else in the industry have
enough clout in the market to beat out Intel?

No one is saying that. AGP Express is a makeshift solution to put an AGP
slot on a PCI Express board by using the bandwidth of two PCI slots. The
performance of the AGP Express slot is terrible. AGP-E is definately not
the way to go.

All over the place. Since it's an immature spec, performance is actually
lower in some instances. It's just a gimmick to maintain some exclusivity
and hype people into upgrading. AGP 8x throughput ain't even close to being
saturated yet. By the time PCI-E makes a difference, the current crop will
be long obsolete.

You're right, the bandwidth of PCI-E isn't needed at the moment, it's way
ahead of it's time. The only advantage will be the SLI mode but most boards
I've seen only have one PCI-E slot...
