Is anyone else having problems getting the VT out via VIVO interface to
work on cards so equipped?
I have a Gainward FX5900 golden sample with the VIVO connector and
cannot make the TV out work in either windoze or linux.
About the only thing it does is as follows:
When I boot the machine the bios post messages appear on the VT with no
vertical sync (excessive flipping), then when the windows boot screen
appears the TV correctly displays the windows logo, but when the desktop
comes up the TV signal is lost completely.
Under windows the card will not correctly detect the attached TV (or
VCR, whichever I have connected). I must manually specify the override
and then I get an NTSC TV listed under connected displays. I've
tried to use Dualview, and clone to make the TV display accessible with
no luck.
My driver set is the latest (recommended) by Gainward: VGA/6.14.10.5672.
I've tried using the bare lowest resolution and refresh of 320x240@60hz
without positive results too.
On a related note: Nvidias nview software came with the card and I use
it to make VGA configuration settings. I don't use the expert tool
because I've see cases where the expert tool settings don't match the
nview settings that are in effect. I don't overclock so is it safe to
remove expert tool completely and just use the nvidia nview utility to
modify settings?
I've also tried (under linux) to get the TV to be identified as display
:1 with no success by tweaking the X11 configuration files as per nvidia
instructions for dual monitors.
