Hello,
Hopefully someone can give me a quick answer to this one.
Is there a way of forcing windows 2000 to give out an ip address to another win2k machine?

I currently have a LAN set up, sharing broadband. However if the main server machine has been running a while it won't give out an ip to the second machine when it's booted up. This leaves the other machine with no access to the internet or the files on the server.

Any help? I don't know if any of the ipconfig commands can do this.

Cheers.

We will either find a path or make one

stupid question: the server machine is running ICS?

Anyway, if you do ipconfig/renew on the client, it doesn't get an address?

It's always the one thing you never suspected.

/release and /renew but if your DHCP server is having trouble then why don't you just manually assign IP, gateway, and DNS information and be done with it?
