Hi All,

I have a Gateway Solo 9300 with a Pentium II Mobile running at 400MHz.

I'd like to replace the CPU with a Pentium III running at a faster speed.
I've been told that, given the chassis number I have, I can replace the CPU
with a PIII running at up to 650 MHz.

Can I replace just the PII chip with the PIII chip? Or would I replace the
MMC also? I don't know what the MMC unit does. I don't want to "burn out"
something by putting in a PIII chip where only a PII chip should go. Also,
what would happen if I put in a 700 MHz chip?

Thanks, Dan
