The only icons that I see are the standard Tattoo shop, burger joints, love
interests...etc. No mission icons.

as Phil said, try standing inside the gym or burger shot or somewhere
and see what shows up. People have done this before and all of them
have eventually found the icon they were missing. Have you actually
done that mission where you set fire to the house? You will know as
you will have a girlfriend in game by now. If not then you are missing
that icon somehow and it is quite small and does not stand out at
all... I think it's in the Market area

I can understand that but can't understand why it's happened. The only
thing I can think, if you genuinely can't see an icon and he hasn't
called is to go back to an earlier save and redo the houseparty
mission or something. Just curious, but I am assuming you're using the
pc version... have you used any cheats? It's just curiosity as to
whether it might be a cheat which has caused the problem

now i'm confused... in a prior post you say that the only icons you can
see are "the standard Tattoo shop, burger joints, love interests...etc.
No mission icons."

you wouldn't have a "love interest" icon if you hadn't done the "burning
desire" mission.

that sounds like hot cofee enabled (red hearts icons enabled at the
beginning) ... though I could play through the story without any
problem with hot coffee installed ...

I do have the hot coffee patch...I'm assuming that's why all the "love
interest" icons are available.

There are at least two versions - one is a replacement file (or two)
that also unlocks all the girlfriends, the other (sacensor.exe) is a
really small program that just flips the censor switch either in a
running game or in a save file (drag the save file onto the
sacensor.exe program, I think). sacensor.exe is in the v2 Hot Coffee
patch that I loaded onto my web site a couple of weeks ago.

Just to let u know that the side effect of hot coffee 2.1 is that all
the areas (SF and LV) will be unlocked at the beginning and all the
jets/heli will be available to u ....I played thru GTA-SA the first
time with it and it sort of made the game a bit different that the
original designer wants it to be (e.g. I don't get to see the bridge
barrier that everyone talks about)....my personal advice is to go
through it without hot coffee first and then monkey around with it
later.I am sure once u start really playing the game, u will never
bother to visit those stupid girlfriends anymore.
