I just bought a good cooling system so I can overclock my CPU. The
problem is that in my motherboard I don't see anything about
multiplier. Anyway I downloaded Easytune 4 and 5. With none of them I
can change the multiplier. It says that the multiplier is at 12 but I
can't increase it. Why is that? is that my motherboard that doesn't
support higher multiplier or is it my CPU that locks it. Oh yea well
any I increased the FSB but it also automaticly incrases the RAMs MHz
which is normally 333MHz. Whatever I don't want to overclock with the
FSB I'd like to just increase the multiplier so I'd like to know why I
can't.

System spec.

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Rev1.0
1 x 512DDR PC 2700 (333MHz)
Pentium 4 C 2.4GHz 800FSB 512KB
Heatsink: Zalman CNPS 7700-Cu

If you don't want to increase the FSB, you should have gotten an AMD. Intel
CPU's are all multiplier locked and the only way that you can o/c the chip
is through the FSB.

AMD processors (except for mobile and FX) are also multiplier locked since
about a year and a half ago.

Does worth it there isnt risk if I get DDR400 or higher to raise the
FSB. But right now I bought to much things for gaming. 6600GT + Kick
Ass Cooling just don't have money for more that's why I wanted to
overclock but for now the il just have to put the cooling system away
for a bit. I even had to remove my case's top to put out the power
supply to make place for the heatsink lol... Oh well. Thanks for the
help
!
