Would love to see this. During your run there would be junction points
in the storyline where you have to make a decision, making one decision
or the other leads to unlocking a different set of missions and
scenarios, leading to multiple alternate endings in the storyline,
rather than what we have now where everyone does the same set of
missions in roughly the same order, leading to the same exact story
ending.
Also, would like to be given the option of 24-minute game days or real
time 24-hour game days.
And ofcourse, Bigfoot, space aliens, and cops that look like Robert
Patrick asking me if I have seen this boy, showing me a photo.

Like those old books that said "If you choose option x, turn to page a. If
you choose option y, turn to page b" only a lot more fun.

Hm, I'm not convinced by this. IIRC most games that try this turn our
to be complete poo for some unfathomable reason. As the saying goes:
don't mess with a winning formula.

I kind of like the current time cycle. My preferred GTA 'environments'
is sunset to sunrise. Gotta love those tropical VC sunsets. You way, I
would then be forced to do 12-hours GTA night sessions!
=)

Totally agrees - more random fun stuff. Can also be scary random fun
stuff say that nabs you if you're wandering alone in the woods at
night.
I'm really disappointed that they didn't put some in SA - would have
been so easy to code an extra 'random' character, and would have added
so much to the feel of the game.

I've long thought that it would be amazing to see a game with a vast number
of missions and cutscenes, giving the player the same sort of freedom to
roam within the story as we have when we're just messing around in GTA
without doing missions. Kind of like the side missions, but instead of it
just being a race, or going to put out fires, we might find a whole new plot
to go through.
Digressing slightly, I'm quite surprised that Rockstar haven't released any
expansion packs for, say, Vice City, with a new set of missions for Tommy
within the same environment. They could even change the time frame that it
happens in with a bit of creative re-skinning of buildings, peds etc. We
could maybe rejoin Vercetti a year or so after the events of VC, and he
could face a new set of problems to deal with. Modders have done it with
"Long Night", I'm sure Rockstar could show everyone who's boss by doing it
all properly with new cutscenes etc. (which is not to say that the modders'
work isn't excellent, because it is).
Having said that, I've read interviews with Rockstar people where they say
that GTA3, VC and SA are a trilogy of sorts, and that the next console/PC
game will be something new.

One thing I'd love to see, and which seems feasbile to implement, is
more pedestrian communication.
It seems strange that pedestrians will randomly stop and talk to each
other, but can't to CJ. Some thing along the lines of the homies-sytem
would be good.
