I am using Tom Tom 2 with an iPaq 5455 2002 bluetooth. Is there a way
I can use one of these bluetooth ear plugs permitting me to hear the
driving directions from Tom Tom V2.0.

Hi there,

Thanks for the link, unfortunately it's for the 2003. I guess won't be
of any use to me but for sure it was a step in the right direction.

Hi again softspot,

Been searching the net for a couple of hours and this is what I came
up with.

In the registry change the following setting :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Widcomm\BtConfig\Services\0005

Search for item "enabled" and change the value from 0 to 1

Now the re-direction of sound need to be made. Once again in the
registry change the following :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev

Search for item "Dll", change the value from "wavedev.dll" to
"BTCelf.dll" (without the quotes of course)

Now the sound is (hopefully) redirected from your iPaq to your
Bluetooth headset.

One thing ... it doesn't work on all iPaq units. Don't complain if it
doesn't work said the owner of the site mentioned underneath.

The above was translated from an Austrian web site written German :
http://www.ccc.at/news/templates/c [...] &zoneid=10

I guess it's worth trying it out if no one else has a better solution.

Thanks for the info. Even though I am not searching myself for redirecting
sound to bluetooth-headsets, since I don't have such a headset.
I just happened to stumble across that item yesterday while surfing around
without a specific reason and remembered it when I saw your question.
Thought I couldn't hold that info froml you since you asked for something
like that.

But the advice may come in very handy for other PPC-users with the same
question so: on behalf of all the others: thanks.

For future reference:

Tinyurl.com makes short urls of anything - so from

http://www.handango.com/PlatformPr [...] productId=

to

http://tinyurl.com/2ndob

Great for entering URL's on Pocket IE
