Hi all

I have a Leadtek 180T MX440. It used to run Half life 2 without any
probs.
I have recently upgraded my processor to an AMD Athlon 2800 CPU from a
Duron 1600, and upgraded the RAM from 512 to 1024.

Whenever I try to play HL2 or Doom3 or Jedi Knight, I get random
polygons on the screen and the programs crash.
Has anybody else seen this, and if so any hints on fixing the issue ?

I have run memtest on the RAM, and all seems fine.

I have loaded the latest NVIDIA drivers too.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I fixed it. After reading a couple of articles, narrowed it down
to the motherboard drivers. The motherboard is an Asrock K7VM4.
It appears the VIA 4 in 1 drivers supplied by Asrock cause problems
with the MX440 card.

After uninstalling them, all is fine now.
Strange how it never affected the Duron.
