As the subject says which card, comp is P4 3.0Ghz wth HT 1gig dual rate DDR
memory, 120 gig SATA drive.

LCD Monitor that natives to 1280x1024
Like Halflife,GTA, Total War type of games and would need to run at the
above resolution.
I can get an AGP 6600GT for about £125.00
And a 6800 AGP for about £176.00

Would the extra cash be worth it for me, performance wise.

Thanks

They are only a slight increase, but you can unlock the pixel pipelines and
overclock it, with the 6600gt you can only overclock it

I went with the 6600GT, on the philosophy that I never want to spend more
than £150 on a single graphics card.

I may revise that, if I ever get a pay rise...

I went with the Vanilla 6800....cause they hadnt released the 6600GT
back then :)

Seriously though, theres probably +/- 10fps between the two...

Thanks for the replies
I will prob go with the 6600GT as it is at least £50 cheaper.
Thanks

I learned an important lesson. I think I paid something like $119 for a
5600XT from the GeForceFX line. I really see no significant improvements
over a GeForce 2 Ultra, to tell you the truth. If funds are scarce, I'd
just as soon keep on saving until I have $500 - $600 set aside, then I'll
buy the best graphics card I can get for that amount.

Then... hopefully each time a better card comes out, I can have another
$500 - $600 set aside to buy it, then sell the old one while I can still
get $300 or so for it. :)

Try avoiding the Aopen Aelous series as every single damn card i've tried is
malfunctioning. They are not worth the PCB they are made of.
